"During recent months I have seen a shift in the ratio of time that I spend searching for information on the Internet vs. the time I spend working with the results of what I have found thanks to several of your suggestions. As a long-time CompuServe user I've come to appreciate the quick response to queries that CompuServe generates. All this costs less about $300 in data base searches each month it was offset by the savings in my time. Being an engineer, I often calculate these tradeoffs. Now I am finding most of what I need from following my competition to finding travel arrangements and maps on the Internet. I would estimate that I am saving about an hour a week since I have applied you methods." Sincerely, Juan Loebel
We started off with three objectives: In-house training in strategic planning techniques. I believe we more than the achieved each of those objectives and developed a substantially improved corporate plan for the AP business incorporating a set of revised strategies which had the commitment of each team member. The sessions had, however, an additional benefit which became more apparent as we presented are overhauled strategies to the rest of the organization. While a believe the techniques we employed significantly improve senior management's understanding for strategic thrusts, their real benefit came from the dialog we established in the AP's marketing, sales, technology and manufacturing personnel at all levels. I believe we've made a substantial step for developing in communicating a common and coherent set of strategies for our business. To Allan, the time schedule we established for the process was perhaps unrealistically tight, but the process was always stimulating and product most worthwhile. We believe we're seeing the benefits already." Very truly yours, A.J. Gaskell
I hope our paths cross again. Sincerely yours, Jim Miller
As you are well aware, we have had several tries at developing a comprehensive strategic plan using various techniques. These attempts, however, have not lead to an effective plan - they might have been too remote, to theoretical. This time, with the help of your staff, we are arriving at a plan which in my opinion is down-to-earth, practical and executable. The work your people have done in educating and motivating our people in guiding the total process has been of extreme value. Not that you have done the planning but your people have been the catalysts, your support gap process going, and the sheer existence of your staff has helped us enormously in keeping it going. Future will tell whether the plan is good, I feel that this organization and its people have anyway taking the giant step forward in strategic thinking in approaching issues strategically. Thank you very much for the work you and your staff have done for us. I look forward to further cooperating with you in your colleagues. With Season's Greetings, Mauri
